On 24th September over two million people will have a cup of coffee in support of MacMillan Caner Support. The event is billed as the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and it is hoped to raise £8.3 million to support the cancer charity. The event’s main sponsors, Kenco and M&S, are providing the coffee. Both Kenco and M&S supply coffee from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms. Kenco coffee achieved full certification in 2010 and M&S recently launched their triple certified coffee blend in all their cafés, restaurants and coffee shops.
TV personality Ben Fogle is supporting the event and will be serving coffee to one group of winners via a Kenco competition. Ben Fogle said, “It’s an honour to be working alongside Macmillan and Kenco to help raise valuable funds for those affected by cancer. The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is a great chance to have fun and get together with friends, family or colleagues in September. Whatever you do and however you do it, every coffee morning counts”. , Kenco is also donating 5p directly to Macmillan for every special stickered 200g jar of Kenco Smooth, Rich or Decaff, as well as providing coffee in every registration pack.
Between 4th August and 2nd October, when you buy a selected sandwich or sweet treat in an M&S Café, M&S will donate 10 per cent of the price to Macmillan Cancer Support (subject to availability). On the 24th September M&S will donate 50p for every cup of coffee sold.
With both Kenco and M&S supplying coffee from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is a great opportunity for you to enjoy a coffee that has been produced to the highest ethical standards encompassing protection for the environment and wildlife, protection for farmers, their families and those who work on coffee farms, and improved economic opportunities for coffee farmers and workers in the developing world. It is the perfect combination of helping to raise funds for McMillan while enjoying your ethical coffee with friends, family or work colleagues; whether you’re at home, work or you pop into an M&S café.
