Join the sustainable living debate

16/11/2011

On 22 November, Rainforest Alliance president, Tensie Whelan, will take part in a Unilever and Guardian Sustainable Business debate, where a panel of experts will discuss how to close the gap between concern and action.

Most people around the world say they are concerned about climate change and other sustainability issues but only a small minority have actually changed their behaviour. With rising populations, increasing wealth in emerging countries and billions more consumers, how can we inspire the majority of people to modify their habits and close the gap between concern and action? Is it possible? How could it work in practice?

On Tuesday 22 November at 2pm (GMT) Unilever’s CEO, Paul Polman, the CEO of Havas, David Jones, Tensie Whelan the president of the Rainforest Alliance and Malini Mehra CEO of the Centre for Social Markets debate the issues in a live broadcast facilitated by Jonathan Dimbleby.

The debate will be live streamed through the Guardian website. Viewers will have the opportunity to pose questions to the panel. To register your interest and click here.
